Giving  Frequently Asked Questions

Why has Abyssinian Baptist Church of Christ started accepting online gifts?
We understand that many people are unable to attend church on a regular basis. This system is intended to make it more convenient for anyone to send their tithes and offerings to the church. Plus, many people no longer carry cash or a checkbook with them, so we want to make it easy and convenient to give.

Is this system safe and secure?
Yes. Givelify utilizes the most robust, secure payment processing methods.

Will the church see information about my bank account or credit card?
No. The only information the church sees is your name, email address, and the amount.

How can I set up recurring giving through my bank?
If your bank has an online bill payment service then you can set up your bank to automatically send a check to Abyssinian Baptist Church of Christ, 820 NW 2nd Ave, Pompano Beach, FL 33060. By using your own bank’s online bill payment you can easily manage the recurring donation from your bank’s website and the church is not charged any fees. Most banks offer this service free to their customers as well. Recurring giving is a great option. This can help you set a goal and keep it by having the amount automatically withdrawn and you’ll always be giving whether you’re present or not on a Sunday morning.

Will I see my online gifts on my year end statement?

Yes. Any gifts sent through the Givelify will be recorded the same way your offerings in church are recorded. You can also see your giving history through Givelify.

What card brands and types do you accept?
You can make contributions with your Visa, MasterCard, and Discover debit/credit cards through the mobile app or on the web. We strongly encourage the use of debit cards, cash, and checks. We pray that the credit card option will only be used by those who pay their entire balance at the end of every month. We strongly discourage those who have credit card debt from giving via a credit card.

Is this service only for members of the church?

No – anyone may use this service to give to the church.

Does 100% of my gift go to Abyssinian Baptist Church of Christ?
If you give via cash or check, then yes; however, if you are using the options to give online by mobile or web through Givelify, then no. As with any transaction using your card, Givelify charges a transaction fee. The transaction fee is 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction. For example, if you give $100 through Givelify, then the Church will receive $96.80. Please note that your entire $100 is tax deductible.
